Breaking News!
Shredding Trails has become one of the first MTB apparel brands to achieve a 360 degree environmentally sustainable model in reducing the burden of apparel into landfill.
Our polyester Jerseys, which are made from recycled plastic bottles, can now be recycled preventing them from ending up in landfill.
Statistics
The average Australian contributes 23kg per year in clothing to landfill, much of which is made from non-biodegradable polyester. The average life of a piece of clothing is only 3 months.
Fast Fashion
Fast fashion is choking our planet and solutions are required in order to mitigate the enormous toll the industry is having on landfill. This 360 degree model is one of the most promising strategies to achieve this, and we are very proud to be part of the solution.
Improving the longevity of our Jerseys
The design of our iconic Raptor jerseys makes them both tear and stain resistant. These are two of the most common reasons why people discard their Jerseys. It was therefore important for us to help create a Jersey that did not fall into either of these categories, and so extending their product life.
Please share this story to as many people as possible.
It is only through making people aware of such solutions that we can help secure a healthier future for our planet. The big brands will fall in line as we (the consumers) make a conscious effort to demand such solutions. Ultimately, this comes down to our values, choices and purchasing behaviour. The message needs to be strong, and from as many of our outdoor adventure disciplines as possible. Send it 🤙
